Iowa

First of all, I would like to give a shout out to McDonalds for free wifi. Yay!!

IOWA!!!

We had to take a detour off the main road, Highway 34, and this is what we got on. Yeah, not kidding. Anthony said these are the type roads people can go missing.

Last night we stayed in Viking Lake State Park and was wanting an electrical outlet for our handy dandy fan to keep us cool, but when we arrived at 4:30, all of them were taken, so we ended up without one. While I was thinking it was going to be a miserably warm night, God decided we needed some thunder storms, and it cooled off considerably. So thank you, God, for providing the cooling rain, and also it got the kids off the roads and the party people in their tents and RV's and everything got quiet by about 10. We slept pretty well and it was even chilly when we woke up this morning. This campground is out in the middle of stinkin' nowhere, so I thought we would be the only ones there. I was wrong. I think everyone in the states of Iowa and Nebraska decided to go camping at this particular campground. The bathrooms were relatively clean, and the shower water was hot, so this was a good experience.

I wanted to show you what our set up looks like, so.  .  .

This picture shows how Anthony puts the screens on our windows to keep out the bugs at night. However, it doesn't keep out the rain, so we were able to roll up the windows when it started raining and it was still cool enough.
How many of you are as excited about the new organic line of products at Walmart??
So, story. Anthony and I went into Walmart looking for organic apples and they didn't have any.  Anthony wanted one anyway, and got a conventional one. I wasn't about to buy an apple that wasn't organic, so I got some peanut M&M's instead😁

On another note, Anthony's toothbrush keeps falling on the ground and it is no longer allowed in the same compartment as mine.

  1. I don't know the dates, but the Iowa State Fair is supposed to be fantastic. Travel on!

  2. The picture of the road in Iowa looks like most of the roads I see when we visit Danny's family in Oklahoma and Kansas. Long, straight, flat and few trees...

    1. That can describe so much of what we saw before Colorado. Was glad to have a few mountains here and there to break it up a bit.

    1. Deanna, of course he is. Once he washed it off, there was nothing wrong with it, ha!
