AND WE'RE OFF

I would like to send a shout out to all who saw us off :) Which consisted of our neighbor, Art, and his two dogs, Chelsea and Sandy.

With a goal of leaving at 6:45, we were pretty close at 7:00, and made it to the airport about 8:45 Nashville time. Alyssa is now in the city of Frasier Crane, Seattle, involved in a Cru summer in the city project where she will be student staff.  She got to try out our nice little bed in the back of the van as we have taken out all the seats. I believe she liked it as she was snoozing in no time. As soon as we dropped her off at the airport, we made our way to Shelby Bottoms greenway in Nashville for a bike ride.

Yesterday on our way through Kentucky, and we saw a sign for Land Between The Lakes, and decided to head there as we haven't ever been to that part of Kentucky before, stopped at the visitors center, and had a lunch of chicken salad and chips before we headed out again.

We made it to our final resting place for the night at Lake Wappapello, just north of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The sites were only $12.00 a night and had decent shower facilities and hardly  anyone else was there.

More later, time to pack up and get moving. Headed to Jefferson City to find the Katy Trail.
