This morning finds us in Seattle at Seattle Pacific University in a dorm room. This is a view from our room.
I have always wanted a view of water from my room, so now, at least for a few days, I have one.
Our trip to Seattle was pretty uneventful. Made the usual stops along the way, which included a rest area. We were filling up our Brita Water Filter to put in the cooler, and doing our usual rest area activities, and we hear another man tell his wife, who was walking around with their toddler, to watch out for rattlesnakes. Anthony and I immediately look at each other, and I think we were both thinking the same thing, that we would love to get a picture of a rattlesnake, with my zoom lens, of course. Then I started thinking of how a selfie might look with a rattlesnake, ha!
But we didn't see a rattlesnake and didn't hear any squeals from anyone else, so no snake sightings this time.
As we are driving down the roads and we come upon a town or area, I pull out our AAA tour book and read about the town or area, and see if we want to stop. The next interesting area we saw along our route was the Grand Coulee Dam, which is close to Electric City. It is said to be one of the largest concrete structures in the world, so we decided we can't miss that. And here it is:
Here is Anthony at the visitors center:
And here is one of him pretending to be a diver. Okay, this one isn't as good as him on the bike, but he posed for me anyway.
The next towns we stopped at were Douglas:
I guess there were about 11 residences there.
And then Waterville. It even has a hotel, which was pretty cute.
And wouldn't it be convenient if every town would have a city map posted like this one so everyone would know where everything is?
We continued on Highway 155 and came upon Steamboat Rock, and we had to take another picture.
This ^ was our third attempt to take a picture. The first two were selfies.
This is try number one:
This is try number two:
Well, at least we got the rock this time.
Maybe Anthony needs more practice.
We also saw a lot of this:
This:
And even this:
I wasn't expecting any of that. I was expecting a bunch of this:
When we finally arrived at Seattle Pacific University, which was our destination, Alyssa wasn't there, but this was posted on the door. A message for what the students can eat since this was the cook's day off:
